Would you like to sponsor one of our horses or other animals ?

Here at Blue Acre we rely fully on donations in order to be able to care for our animals.

Our costs are high and the money we receive goes towards food, vet bills, medication and farrier costs for each of our horses.

If you would like to help care for one of our horses or other animals then please have a look through the pictures below and see who you like the look of. Once you have chosen we will set up your regular donation, send you a certificate and even book an appointment for you to come down and meet your sponsored animal.

Once you have decided please click on the Sponsor Now button which will take you to a page explaining how to set it up

Ranger is a beautiful, cheeky but friendly gypsy cob.

He has come a long way since we've had him and is a pleasure to have as part of our herd

Tinker

Tinker is a stunning gypsy cob. He was a bit sheepish at first due to his previous miss treatment.

He is now back to full health and being regularly ridden by one of our volunteers

Tara

Tara is tiny and one of our smallest horses.

She may be small in size but is large on personality and always comes over to say hello.

She also has the most beautiful mane and would look great in a shampoo advert

Spectris

Spectris was found in the back of a lorry on the hottest day of the year.  She had been shut in for over 24 hours and was very ill and stressed when we got to her.

Luckily her story has a happy ending and she is now back to great health and living with us and her new friends.

From:

Duke

Duke is the second biggest horse we have.

He has stunning markings and is

definitely one of the leaders in our pack.

Bruno

Bruno is our beautiful show winning stallion and a well behaved boy who used to love being ridden & driven.

Heidi

Heidi is a little shy compared to our other goats however once she gets to know you she will come over for a stroke and some attention.

She also demonstrates where the word goatee comes from as she has a very impressively hairy chin

From:

Snickers

Snickers used to live with one of our volunteers and another goat. When their other goat passed away they didn't want Snickers to be on their own so they brought her down to the sanctuary to hang out with the others. She has settled in with her new friends and is also very friendly.

From:

Biscuit

Biscuit is bold and curious and the first one there when you open your lunch box.

He may look a bit scary with those big horns but he is actually a big softy and loves to be stroked.

Just keep an eye on your sandwich!

Bourbon

Bourbon is a beautiful cockerel with stunning colours and little fluffy legs & feet.

Bertie

Bertie is a feisty cockerel and one of the bird bosses at the sanctuary.

Sometimes when we arrived in different boots he would attack us as he didn't recognise our footwear. Once we call his name and he looks up he would recognise you and relax.

Chick Berry

We've had Chick since she was young and watched her grow in to a very friendly bird. She is one of the first ones there when you open your lunch box, and will even sit on your lap to try and help you eat your sandwich!

She also loves a scratch under her chin.

Polly

Polly is a huge pig and weighs as much as 2 fully grown men!

Even though she's big she can move very fast, especially when she's just stolen your lunch!

Surprisingly, if you offer her food she is actually quite gentle and will eat out of your hand.

Wilbur

Wilbur is retired now, but he would be a great companion.  He came to the rescue many years ago with his best friend.  He is a laid back boy with a few quirks but needs someone to bond with him.  He enjoys being brushed, bathed and needs someone to love him.

Apple Jack

Apple Jack is a New Forest pony who unfortunately cannot be ridden but is a great companion.  He is a stunning pony, changing his coat colour throughout seasons but his lovable character never alters.  He would love a young person to give him some regular attention.

Dill

Dill is Tara’s grandmother. She  would be a lovely companion, loving cuddles and grooming.  She is never far away from Tara, still the boss and keeping the young ponies in line.

Oscar

Oscar is our biggest horse. He looks a reasonable size out in the field but is huge when you actually stand next to him.

We don't know his past and he can be a little jumpy for a big guy but he is now regularly ridden and is coming along nicely.
